Giving

At Cities Church, we intentionally cultivate generous lives as our response to the grace of God, and the words of Jesus. As followers of our generous Lord, we make it our goal to grow in generosity, aiming to be known as a generous community in our city.

Jesus identified what we do with our money as a reflection of the authenticity of our discipleship.

Matthew 6:24 (CSB)

“No one can serve two masters, since either he will hate one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

God’s grace calls us to respond to God’s generosity towards us, with generosity towards His cause and His people.

2 Corinthians 8:9 (CSB)

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: Though he was rich, for your sake he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich.

The Bible teaches us that we honour God when we give Him the first and best of our income.

Proverbs 3:9–10 (GW)

Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first and best part of all your income.

Then your barns will be full, and your vats will overflow with fresh wine.

As faithful disciples, with grateful hearts and in an attitude of worship, we joyfully and generously give to the work that God is doing through Cities Church!
